Robin, this one's for you...

I was thinking that Changito would look very cute if he was holding a heart in his hand. I am loving those heart brads! This wasnt my original thought for this card.... but it works!

Pink Bee!

I love all the new stamps that have been coming in from Stampendous... Valentines, St. Patricks, and Easter to name a few.
Normally I stick to the standard colors of things (...like yellow and black for bees) but I was inspired by Lynn at The Queen's Scene to make him pink and black.
I used the Stampin Up horizontal slot punch for the ribbon, stickles glitter glue, watercolor pencils/blender pen, and a small heart brad.

In the Woods

I ordered in some stamps from Stampendous that were from the "In the Woods" line. Even though they arent new, they are new to my shop and very pretty.
The background paper is from the My Mind's Eye Bohemia collection. I used markers to ink up the stamp so the bird could be blue.
I am keeping the inside blank for now... you never know when you need a sympathy or thinking of you card on a moments notice.

January Crop

The January 24th crop was a huge success! The Chinese Auction was a big hit, the food was great, and the waitresses took such good care of us the whole time. It was nice to spend the whole day away with friends, hopefully everyone got a lot of scrapping accomplished. I had a lot of requests to plan another one since the Feb. 7th crop is already full. In order to give everyone a bit more space, I will limit it to 50-55 people instead of 70. So be watching for future announcements of a possible Mach date!

Here is a side view of the auction prizes.

I was having fun and forgot to get pics until later in the day!

Swanky new stamps!

Brand new stamps have arrived from The Cat's Pajamas. These fun stamps have a little something for all occasions.

Most of the images are of cats, dogs, and penguins. There is Valentine's Day, Get Well, Birthday, Christmas, kid's Birthday, pirates, golfers, cowboys, and more....

Clear stamp sets too for those of you that prefer the flexability of see-through stamping.

XOXO

I was working on some Valentine ideas today and I altered a card I had done before, but it was with red instead of pink. I stamped the XOXO with a Hero Arts Sparkle Clear set for a little tag. The "Bird Call" Cuttlebug embossing folder is one of my favs... you can use it for almost any occasion!

Seeing stars

I needed a birthday card for my nephew and sometimes kids at the pre-teen age can be tough to make cards for.I know he plays hockey so I thought this "Seeing Stars" paper from 3 Bugs in a Rug would be my best bet. I used my star shaped Nestabilities and the JustRite stamps for the focal point. My fear is that I think I spelled his first name wrong! I have the worst time remembering how to spell (eye-say-ah). I have a bad feeling I will be stamping the sentiment again!!

Brand new stamps!!

I just got in my order of brand new rubber stamps from Stampendous. Alot of Valentine's Day, St. Patty's, and Easter/Spring stamps are starting to arrive.

I used the same paper as yesterday's Fluffle card, but I added some "paper glaze" to the rain and puddle on this one. Here is an up close look...

Paper glaze is a clear liquid that adds a glossy or wet look to stamped images. I like to use it on cupcakes to give the frosting a "gooey" look. It works perfectly on this card to make the rain look real. I also used the standard rectangle Nestabilities to cut the scallop.

Inside verse reads:

It's better to find at rainbows end... not a pot of gold, but a really good friend!!

Fuzzy Flocked Fluffles

Our weather here in Erie, PA has been at or below zero for a week now! That is what inspired me to use this Fluffles stamp with his warm fuzzy sweater. I thought I would put some flocking on his yarn ball to make it look fuzzed.

You can see it a little better in this picture. Previously I had posted a UTube link that showed the flocking technique. Here it is again if you missed it:

Blog giveaway winner...

Sorry I am a day late posting the winner, my computer was on the fritz and I couldnt log into Blogger.
The winner is....
Nicole Keller with her guess of 92 feet!
The actual length was 93 feet, I was really surprised no one guessed it exactly. There were a few guesses in the 90's.
Congrats Nicole! Stop in when you get the chance to grab your ribbon bundle.

Mini Chipboard Clipboards

Stampendous makes this 3 pack of cute little chipboard clipboards. I covered them with Doodlebug "Love Spell" paper and tied a bunch of scrap ribbon pieces to them.
The best part about these clipboards is that the metal clip is not permanently attached, you can easily remove it to decorate the chipboard and then put it back on.

I put Post-It Notes on 2 of the clipboards, the smaller one holds the mini Post-Its perfectly.

Mini Tins are back in stock!

Just in time for Valentine's Day treats...

If you need just a "little something" to give your kid's teachers, coworkers, friends, etc. then these small tins are perfect. I sold out of the mini tins and the nugget style tins at Christmas but they are back in stock now for Valentine's Day.

I filled mine with pink and red peanut M&M's, but you could use any kind of cute candy. Hershey Kisses, red cinnamon hearts, conversation hearts, or anything you can think of.

Make it personal!

I found this awesome tip on the JustRite Stampers blog ( JustRite Stampers ) and wanted to give it a try...
There is a pack of 3 borders that you can get as an accessory set to your JustRite stamper, they fit both the self inking and the wood mounted stamp. This one says "From the desk of", the other two say "From the kitchen of" and "From the library of".

Since it says "From the desk of" on the top and bottom, I just snipped off the words on the bottom. Save this piece because you can still use it if you wanted too.

With the small letter set (also a cool accessory) I added my name.

I used paper from the Basic Grey line called Urban Prarie.

Putt Putt...

I needed to make a goofy card for my brother Chris who is a mechanic. He owns his own transmission garage and is always fixing cars for my family. I used a stamp set from Stampin Up called Putt Putt. The cloud paper in the background is Chicken Little from Cosmo Cricket. It was VERY difficult to not embellish this card.
Not my best work, but sometimes you just need something silly!

Basic Grey Valentines

Get ready for Valentine's Day with this easy step-by-step kit. I have ordered in some of the new Basic Grey "Bittersweet" greeting card kits.

This kit includes a beautiful assortment of 8 patterned cards (pre-scored too), self adhesive chipboard, precision die cuts, 2 toned rub-ons, and 8 matching envelopes.

Everything you need including step-by-step instructions and project sheet are included.

The kits retail for 14.99 and would make a good project for the crop too. Email me if you would like me to set one aside for you.

Open for Business!

This could possibly be the stupidest post on the entire blog, but...

After 2 years and 2 months of being in business I finally have an OPEN sign in the window. Sometimes I can be a bit slow to get around to things!

Welcome Home

I made this simple "Welcome Home" card to send to my little brother. He just finished a 15 month tour in Iraq and should be back in Ft. Hood, Texas tonight. Just wanted to let him know we are proud of him and glad he is home.

An easy way to make a tag like that is to use a square punch. It will cut the end off perfectly!

Cuttlebug love!

Some of you have been waiting for a few months for the Cuttlebug folder called "With Love" to come back in stock. It's a set of 5 borders and is super versatile for card making. Here is a couple samples I made up...
If your wondering about the balloon, just stamp it on a piece of scrap paper and cut it out. You can place it right over the original balloon and it will match your back ground paper. Its hard to see in the photo but I put some small jewels on the left hand side.

The centers of the flowers are dew droplets, a small round stone with a flat back. Perfect for adding to cards.

Hedgehog Valentine

My internet was out at the shop today so I was getting caught up on other projects and papers I had been putting off.
This is a 5x5 sized card that I made using the Penny Black clear stamps and Pebbles Inc. paper. I cut the scalloped rectangle out with the long rectangle set of Nestabilities.
